The concept of social responsibility can be summed up as the organization,s accountability for its operational activities and decision making and their impact on the stakeholders who have direct interest in the company or who are directly or indirectly impacted by those activities or decisions. Therefore direct involvement in the care and service of the community constitutes parts of this responsibility which gained momentum in the past two decades in which private companies and institutions were expected to play a greater dynamic role in the society development, sustainability of natural resources and environment protection . |

In this sense KNPC took a leading role by living up to its responsibility in contributing to the comprehensive development efforts, improving the environmental conditions and support of social initiatives .The company demonstrated its interest in these areas in a number of initiatives and activities such as: |
The signing in July,2009 of an agreement with the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish resources to establish KNPC Natural Reserve on a one million square meter land in Wafra area. The first phase of this wild life reserve is currently being implemented after the environmental assessment study was conducted.
For the second year in a row KNPC offers free break the fast meals to thousands of people during the holy month of Ramadan .The specially set tent installed near Dar Al-Watania (the company head office) receives nearly one thousand people at sunset everyday where they are offered free break the fast meals. What distinguishes this charitable initiative is the opportunity it provides for the company employees for voluntary contribution and donations to co finance the meals.
The company supports and encourages voluntary action ,that is why a number of employees donate money to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society which undertakes relief and humanitarian works.
The company employees also actively participated in blood donation campaigns organized by the company and the Blood Bank in Kuwait.
The company also provided significant financial support to the Kuwaiti Diving Team in their endeavour to retrieve sunken ships and boats in the Gulf waters and to maintain marine reserves.

| Cooperation with the civil society organizations |
The company continued its support and sponsorship of a large number of activities launched by the civil society organizations in the cultural, sport ,and educational domains .National festivities and occasions along with charitable work and help to people of disability also enjoyed special attention by the company during this period .
The company contribution to the people of special needs included the following. |
Financial donation to the Autism school of the Ministry Of Education.

Supplying to handicapped children under the care of the ministry of Social Affairs and Labour.

Participation in the Early interference training course which educated attendants on the best methods to handle handicapped children.

Participation in the arrangement of the sport festival organized by the public and private schools of handicapped school boys and girls.

In all KNPC was an active participant in 20 conferences and exhibitions in the fiscal year 2009 /2010 Beside a number of local exhibitions staged at the company Head Office in Ahmadi township. |
| Activities to Serve KNPC Employees |
The company considers creating the proper work atmosphere for its employees as one of its prime duties and a cornerstone in its social responsibility policy. This naturally implies providing recreational Educational, sport and cultural services to their families. |

Therefore the Company spring camp and the company club are utilized for various functions to the benefit of the employees and their families Public parks and cinemas are also approached to give discounts on their programs to the company employees and their families.
The company hosted two functions this year to honour distinguished sons and daughters of the employees in their school studies. Around 330 students were 49 < Employees families celebrate the National Day at the Spring Camp honoured for their outstanding performance at school. |

The company also arranged two trips to Mekka for its employees to perform the Omra.
A fishing trip was also arranged to Massira island in the Sultanate of Oman.
The company organized a number of sport tournaments at the company club.
A Summer camp is regularly set for the employees sons and daughters.
